The best ever
A handball legend in Romania, Dinu is considered the best goalkeeper Romania has ever had. She plans to retire after the 2008 season. Dinu currently plays professionally in Romania for Oltchim Valcea, along with left wing Ramona Maier, pivot Ionela Stanca-Galca and several other members of the Romanian national team.

Coming up big
Dinu saved 39 percent of shots against her (105 saves in 272 chances) for the fourth-place Romanian team at the 2007 World Championship. She also had an outstanding tournament for the silver medal-winning Romanian squad at the 2005 World Championship, saving 43 percent of all shots against her (117 saves in 275 chances)

Second Olympics
Dinu competed as Luminita Hutupan for the seventh-place Romanian team at the 2000 Sydney Games, but Romania did not qualify for Athens. Named the top player at the 2000 European Championship in Romania, where the Romanian team finished fourth.

Little light
Dinu, whose name means "little light," didn't start her career with the national team until age 27. By the time she was 29, she was named the top player at the 2000 European Championship in Romania, where the Romanian team finished fourth.
