ESP Team Profile

Spain won the world championships in 2005, but more recently finished seventh and ninth at Worlds in 2007 and 2008 European Championships respectively. The Spaniards are led by veterans David Barrufet and Jose Hombrados, a talented tag team in goal. Iker Romero and Alberto Enterrios, are threats from the back court and Juan Garcia is a talented scorer from the left wing.

In Olympic handball, the 12 men's teams and 12 women's teams are split into two groups by random draw. An Olympic handball team's roster comprises 15 players.
