U.S. rower Giuseppe Lanzone makes his Olympic debut in 2008. A native of Peru, Lanzone moved to Virginia when he was 15. He spoke about the integral part rowing has played in his transition to the United States.

One of the most physically demanding Olympic sports, rowing is all about endurance. With each race 2000 meters long, rowers reach anywhere between 40 to 47 strokes per minute.
